Excerpts of Speech made by Dr Awasthi at JIFCO Inauguration
This is has been true partnership between the Jordon an India in the Field of Fertilizer.
The outcome is finally the establishment of Joint venture but IFFCO and JPMC…
India is an agriculture country need large quantity of fertilizer.
President of India is non supporter of Agriculture and his land mark reform in fertilizer sector in India would be remembered…I had an honored and privilege to have been associated with Excellency.
There being no significant reserve for rock phosphate, India is entirely dependent on import of rock phosphate in different forms and IFFCO is the largest importer and producer of fertilizer in India….
So, JPMC and IFFCO signed and MoU in 2007 to establish this fertilizer factory. This had the vision of 2Million tones of rock phosphate to be consume in plant and about 2 million tones to be exported to IFFCO plant in Prardeep.
So about 4 Million tone of which and the phosphoric acid to be produce here and the maximum amount was to be imported by India and to be exported from aqaba port.
So it has a continuous line up of a acid going from aqaba port to kandla port and had a complete strategic partnership with about 4 million dollar as revenue earning to the Jordon and with at least 80% of the workforce to be of Jordanian and that of too nearby areas
The JIFCO Project furnished the foundation stone was laid under the partners you’re your majesty and I had the honored to present their sir.
On 3rd October 2009 it has now become operational and it is dedicated by your majesty king and by our honorable president…It is a greatest occasion for us, Specially IFFCO which is owned by more than 50 million farmers, It cannot be bigger owner than dis.

Seeking the project had lot of the challenges as though challenges were engineering as logistic but those challenges were met under guidance of Chairman JPMC and IFFCO Peoples and today’s this plant has run more than 80 percent capacity which is the world record for this kind of plant…It also has the incidentally the biggest sulphuric acid plant in the world no body has 5 thousand per day plant which is biggest one here….
