Haryana Sugar mills on growth path

All the 10 cooperative sugar mills in Haryana have produced 18.66 lakh quintal of sugar by crushing 225.53 lakh quintal of sugarcane till date.

Disclosing this in Chandigarh , a spokesman of Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills said that recovery of sugar from cane has been 8.42 per cent till date during the current crushing season.

Overall capacity utilisation of the sugar mills in the state has been 92.19 per cent till date during the current crushing season as compared to 71.86 per cent during the last crushing season, he added.

He said that during the crushing season 2009-10, Cooperative Sugar mills of the State had crushed 87.04 lakh quintal of sugarcane and produced 7.28 lakh quintal of sugar.

He said that Cooperative Sugarmill, Gohana, Meham, Rohtak and Shahabad had exported over 4.01 crore units of power till date during the current crushing season. Cooperative Sugar mill, Gohana exported over 17.78 lakh units, Meham sugarmill 90,300 units, Rohtak sugarmill over 1.10 crore units and Shahabad sugarmill over 2.81 crore units.
