A resolution to move Mohan Mishra, Secretary of NCCT has been passed in the Governing Council meeting that took place on Thursday at the NCUI headquarters in Delhi.
The issue of NCCT Secretary’s repatriation to the parent organization NCUI dominated the Governing council meeting of the national apex cooperative federation on Thursday.
Raising the matter Pramod Kumar Singh who is GC member from Uttrakhand demanded that Mishra be repatriated to NCUI. Singh is Chairman of ICM Dehradun and it is said that he had issues of discord with the NCCT secretary in the past.
Coming in support of Mishtra the government nominee Jyotindra Mehta is said to have argued that since Mishra is doing a good job with both financial health and training apparatus of NCCT are excellent under his leadership, it is not logical to repatriate him.
Besides, Mehta said the govt has already extended his tenure for one year and the matter ends here. Indian Cooperative could not confirm this as Mehta was busy catching flight for Gujarat and promised to talk later in detail.
Using Mishra’s so-called competence to strengthen his argument Pramod Singh argued that NCUI has registered a loss of 3 core in this financial year ( audit report was placed in GC meeting) and therefore there is a greater need to shift him to NCUI to take care of the situation.
When Indian Cooperative asked him what if the govt does not relent, Singh said “we have passed a resolution to repatriate him and according to bye laws, NCUI Board is the competent authority to take a call on employees. If govt is so interested to have him, please ask him to resign from NCUI first”, he added.
He threatened to knock the door of court if the situation warrants. “NCUI chairman may have his compulsions but I am a cooperator and have no qualms taking the matter to the court”, Pramod said.
While Mohan Mishra refused to comment on the development, Indian Cooperative phone call to NCUI President has not materialized so far. Chandra Pal has reportedly said that he would brief the Ministry about the members’ reactions on the issue.
