The village Sripur in Supaul district of Bihar is no longer forgotten as efforts by the local IFFCO office have indeed borne fruit and seen infertile tracts of land grow vegetables. “It is a green revolution in the making right before our eyes” said farmer Nirlobh Acharya who had earlier raised the issue of his unproductive farms with this correspondent.
The farmers of Siripur greeted the IFFCO team as soon as they reached the village. The villagers took them around with a sense of gratitude showing the team the impact their efforts have made on their farms over the last three months.
IFFCO’s campaign “Mridda Jirnodhar kaayakram (resuscitating life in soil)” is beginning to elicit attention of farmers and thus the farmer in question contacted this correspondent who presented the case to IFFCO Director 
Prem Chandra Munshi. Munshi referred the matter to Mr Rajender Yadav area manager of IFFCO based in Purnea. And the whole exercise started.
Madhepura and Saharsa District Manager Mr S K Sinha led by Purnea unit head Rajender Yadav IFFCO took the plunge and began rejuvenating soil. The IFFCO’s initiative has suddenly gained visibility in this sleepy village Sripur tucked away in the hinterland of Bihar.
Later talking to Indian Cooperative Mr Rajendra Yadav said” bumper crops of mango and vegetable were possible with the use of IFFCO APS and phosphogypsum. “This is a special experiment employed for cultivation of crops”, he added. Lauding IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi, Yadav said “Our MD ’s constant emphasis on save our soil and rejuvenation of Mother Earth has instilled awareness among thousands of staff like us spread across the country.
Mr Yadav sent many photographs showing the changes in the yield. One of the captions read” bumper crops of jute with the use of APS at village Sripur.” Another read “inspection of dhania and moong crop in Araria district”. A third read “use of IFFCO APS Zinc in Mango crop and so on.
