An online news outlet reports despite demarcation of land at Zeblipora, Bijbehara for setting up of wholesale fruit market (Fruit Mandi), J&K Cooperative Society is yet to construct the shops and allot the same to the applicants even after more than two years. Interestingly the Society has already taken money from fruit growers for allotting shops.

The fruit growers and other businessmen that had sought for shops in the market expressed their anguish at the Society’s failure to construct the shops within the stipulated time despite the fact it had accepted the base amount from the interested in advance.

The applicants said the Society head had said the people shall be allotted shops as per their selection through raffle draw, and the rest of the people that could not be selected shall be handed over their money.

The money the applicants have deposited with the Society amounts to 15 crore and the society seems to be least interested to initiate the work on the project, as it neither starts work on the project nor gives them back their money.
