Good wishes began to pour in as soon as IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi announced that he was going in for a minor eye surgery last week. Friends and families vied with each other in wishing him a speedy recovery on Friday.
Awasthi who is seen as a man who spearheaded the cooperative movement in rural areas and brought IFFCO to the pinnacles of success has a large following in social media as well. Before submitting himself to ophthalmologists Awasthi tweeted “Today I am going to have my #Eye Surgery as advised by doctor . Will see you all after this short surgery.”
Followers got active and one of them tweeted “Respected Sir we wish and pray to God for successful eye surgery and speedy recovery .” Another tweet read “Respected Sir we all pray to God for successful surgery. And a yet another tweet said “ Sir, with SUVKAMNA of crores of farmers and us it will be smooth n perfect.
By 2 pm on Friday MD’s son Mr Amol Awasthi had good news for his father’s fans who felt relieved after his tweet. Amol Awasthi tweeted “ My father’s eye surgery was successful! We thank #God and all the near and dear ones for their wishes, prayers and support!”
Aware of his well-wishers’ concern MD himself followed Amol and tweeted soon. He said he was fine and the surgery was successful. Dr. U S Awasthi tweeted “ Happy to share by the grace of #God & your Love my #Eye Surgery was successful. Will be back soon with all of you.”
