The District Consumer Forum in Indore, Madhya Pradesh has penalized a credit cooperative society for not paying the maturity amount of a fixed deposit (FD) by a costumer.
The cooperative society has been ordered by the forum to pay a matured FD amount of Rs 61,468 along with eight percent annual interest from the year 2006 to the year 2015.The forum also slapped a fine of Rs 4,000 on the society for harassing the costumer and for the case charges.
Besides that court has also fined the ‘Sahakari Sakh Sanstha Maryadit’ with Rs. 3,000 for mental and physical harassment and with Rs.1000 as charge of the case, says a report by Free Press Journal.
