Several cooperative leaders of India descended in Bardoli in Gujarat on Monday to participate in the state level cooperative conference, which was inspired by Bhikhu Bhai Patel.
Mr Patel is one of the Directors on the Board of fertilizer cooperative Kribhco and it was on his insistence that the leaders from Delhi and other parts reached there.
Dr Chandra Pal Singh who is on the board of Kribhco also, besides being the President of NCUI, led the team that included several leaders including Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Singh and Kribhco MD.
From Gujarat almost all the top cooperative leaders including G H Amin, the vice-chairman of NCUI, Paresh Patel another member of Kribhco Board and others were present.

He was also full of praise for Bhikhu Bhai Patel and claimed that his primary cooperative society in Bardoli has a turnover of Rs 40 crore. Such examples are boost in the arms of cooperative movement, Singh said.
Readers could recall that the Bardoli Satyagraha of 1928 against British Raj, was a major episode of civil disobedience . The movement was eventually led by Vallabhbhai Patel, and its success gave rise to Patel becoming one of the main leaders of the independence movement.
