I have a query for which I am unable to find guidelines in the bye-laws.
Can a general member sit through as an observer/ listener during a Management Committee meeting? He/ she doesn’t contribute or participate in the discussion — just sits through and listens. He/ she has not been invited for the meeting.
Some clarity on this will help.

Such member should request the Chairman to let him be a listener to the discussions in the management meeting. If Chairman does not give permission the member cannot insist to sit there. As an extreme case you can move amendment to bye laws under which a member other than a member of the committee may if he so desires, but he shall have no right to speak” It is very unlikely that the committee will let go this proposal to the general body but try and see for yourself.
