The pride of urban cooperative banks, the Cosmos has yet again bagged a prestigious award towards the close of the year 2014. It has been credited with opening the highest number of demat accounts in the cooperative bank category in the country for the year 2014.
The Depository Service Cell – ISO 9001:2008 of the Cosmos Co-operative Bank , the leading multi-state scheduled bank in co-operative banking sector which started its depository business in 1999 has been awarded by National Securities Depository Ltd., (NSDL) with the “ NSDL Star Performer Award – 2014” as Top Performer in opening New Demat Accounts in Co-operative Banks Category.
This award was received by Cosmos Bank’s Managing Director, Vikrant Ponkshe at the hands of G. V. Nageshwar Rao – Managing Director & CEO, NSDL at a function in Mumbai.
Cosmos Bank opened more than 2700 new Demat accounts in the year 2014. Cosmos Bank is the first bank in co-operative banking sector to reach this goal. Demat Services are available at the Cosmos Heights and 91 branches of Cosmos Bank. Cosmos Bank also offers Demat Services through 7 other urban co-operative banks. Till date 80000 Demat account holders have taken the benefit of these Demat Services, claims the Bank sources.
Earlier, the Demat Section of Cosmos Bank received the ISO – 9001:2008 from the world renowned British Company – BSI for Quality Management System.
Cosmos Bank has a set-up of more than Rs.25500 crore and has 137 branches in 7 States.
