The state-of-the-art Corporate Office of The Cosmos Co-operative Bank Ltd – Cosmos Tower, was inaugurated Tuesday in Pune by Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Chief Minister applauded Cosmos Tower situated at University Road, Pune and called the building iconic.
He stated that he has visited corporate offices of private, nationalized as well as co-operative banks and Cosmos Tower is the most impressive corporate office he has seen.
Fadnavis on this occasion recalled that he had inaugurated the Nagpur Branch of Cosmos Bank as Mayor of Nagpur. Since then he is closely associated with Cosmos Bank. He said that the Co-operative sector is continuously undergoing changes and it is necessary to transform according to these changes to survive.
He stated that banks should strive for financial inclusion to develop the entire society. He said that knowledge is power while financial knowledge is empowerment. He appreciated the fact that up till now, Cosmos Bank has taken the initiative of merger of 15 co-operative banks giving relief to the customers of these banks.
Cosmos Bank’s Chairman, Krishnakumar Goyal felicitated Mr. Fadnavis and welcomed the dignitaries. He gave information about Cosmos Tower. All the people associated with the construction of Cosmos Tower were felicitated at the hands of Chief Minister on this occasion.
Along with Chief Minister Fadnavis, present on the dais for the inauguration programme were, Members of Parliament Anil Shirole & Sanjay Kakade, Minister, Tribal Development & Social Justice, Maharashtra State – Dilip Kamble, Mayor of Pune – Dattatray Dhankawde, Vice-Chairman Cosmos Bank – Milind Kale, Chairman Emeritus Cosmos Bank – Dr. Mukund Abhyankar and Managing Director Cosmos Bank – Vikrant Ponkshe. The anchoring for this event was done by Mr. Sudhir Gadgil.
