A scandal has ensnared a cooperative society in Bilaspur, Madhya Pradesh. The Ghuru Seva Cooperative Samiti located not far away from the town has been defrauded of Rs. 40 lakh in a paddy scam.
The Samiti has written to the local police asking them to register an FIR against manager and data entry operator of the Samiti .
However, the police have refused to register an FIR against the accused without an audit report.
The Ghur seva Cooperative Samiti had bought 33,138 quintals of paddy over three years, out of which 2,478.99 quintals had disappeared. The amount of paddy not accounted for was worth Rs. 40.22 lakh.
