The largest Co-operative Bank of NCR, the Kangra Co-operative Bank organised a function recently in Delhi in which the Bank Chairman, Shri Laxmi Dass honoured the newly elected?President of NAFCUB, Dr. Mukund Abhyankar.
It also honoured R.B. Shandilya, Vice-President, NAFCUB & Chairman of State Federation of Urban Coop. Banks & Credit Societies, Ranchi-Jharkhand. Mr. Subhash Gupta ( CEO-NAFCUB) and Shri Sunil Kulshreshtha ( CA-NAFCUB) were also present and honoured as Special Guests on the occasion.
All board members including senior Managers of the Bank also attended the function.
Honourable guests were presented with a small bouquets and traditional HP made woolen Shawls and Kulu Topi ( Caps) as a gesture of welcome and respect on behalf of the Bank. Chairman while welcoming honourable guests in his short but effective address made reference of their background of association with co-operative movements and achievements made by them in this field.
He said that name of Dr. M L Abhyankar is very well known to all co-operators and everyone was aware of his valuable contribution. ‘ .He further said that Shri Ram Babu Shandilaya is also one of the eminent co-operators and has been elected as Vice president in the last NAFCUB election. He hoped that these two gentlemen sitting at the helm of the affairs of NAFCUB would take the co-operative sector and movement to scale new heights. He said that Shri Subhash Guta has been very helpful and guiding factor to our bank in the past and hoped he would continue same with more zeal and zest in future too. Managing Director & CEO Shri Parmar delivered a presentation made that has covered almost all points right from its birth that took place way back in 1960 till date.
Dr M L Abhyankar and Shri Ram Babu Shandilaya also addressed the gathering . Dr. Abhyankar shared the success story of his parent organisation M/s COSMOS Co-Operative Bank Ltd. He said that to get success one has to take hard decisions and same was the case at his parent bank which proved very useful and important in the growth of the bank. He said that he was very happy to note the presence of the BOD of the Kangra bank which is a combination of both old and new co-operators.
He said that it is always important to any developing organisation to keep mix of both categories and senior should make space to juniors. He advised that Kangra Bank should give more priority to adopt IT particularly modern techniques of banking such as Mobile banking which would certainly deliver tangible positive results. He also advised to do SWOT analysis of the organization and to take corrective action thereon for smooth and expeditious growth. He assured that he would take all necessary steps at the NAFCUB level to promote the sector and protect the interest of entire industry across the country. He extended his sincere thanks to bank management for this felicitation.
Shri Ram Babu Shandilaya while extended his thanks to the Kangra Bank , hoped that under the leadership of Dr. M L Abhyankar , NAFCUB would take up all such issues which were important to the growth. Shri Subhash Gupta has also made a reference of good governance prevailing in the bank and appreciated the efforts made by its all board members particularly Shri A C Parmar. He said that The Kangra Bank has always extended its usual help and support to NAFCUB as and when required. He extended his gratitude for felicitating NAFCUB authorities.
Shri B R Sharma –HCA & PD while delivering vote of thanks on behalf of the bank made a reference of three major pending issues related to Co-operative Banks. 1 ) To extend loan facility to the Board Member and their relatives 2) To increase the limit of 10% imposed on unsecured loan and 3) To extend the business area to NCR for UCBs registered in NCTD. Dr. M L Abhyankar assured to take up the matter at his level to address these points.
