The Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta Police conducted simultaneous searches at three locations in Dhar district on Wednesday in a disproportionate assets case against Sher Singh Thakur, manager of Adivasi Jati Seva Cooperative Society, media reports say.
A preliminary probe found that Thakur allegedly accumulated assets worth Rs 2.41 crore against salary earnings of around Rs 65 lakh during nearly 20 years of service, exceeding his known income by 271.46 per cent.
The searches covered properties in Sodpur, Nalchha and Mandav. Investigators identified a two-storey house, a commercial building, agricultural land, vehicles and farm equipment worth substantial amounts. A suspected benami property is also under verification.
