The Ministry of Cooperation has highlighted how digitisation helped Arakkandanallur Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS) in Tamil Nadu safeguard years of essential records despite flood damage.
In a post on social media, the Ministry said the cooperative’s physical records were destroyed in floods, but its digital data remained safe through the e-PACS Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
The digital platform helped the society preserve vital information and sustain its operations during the crisis, demonstrating the importance of technology in strengthening cooperative institutions against unforeseen disruptions.
The Ministry said the success story underlines how digitisation can improve the security and continuity of cooperative operations, particularly at the grassroots level.
The initiative is part of the broader effort to modernise PACS, improve their efficiency and build a more secure and resilient cooperative sector under the vision of “Sahakar Se Samriddhi.”
