The National Federation of State Cooperative Banks Ltd. (NAFSCOB) has published the final list of eligible voters for its forthcoming election to the 21-member Board of Directors, retaining 25 State Cooperative Banks (StCBs) in the electoral roll, while eight member banks remain excluded.
The final list, issued by the Returning Officer on Friday, confirms the names of 25 eligible member banks and their nominated delegates ahead of the polling scheduled for November 5.
NAFSCOB has 33 member State Cooperative Banks. However, the final electoral roll does not include Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur, Nagaland, Puducherry, Sikkim and Tripura. Five of these banks, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, belong to the northeastern region or its broader regional grouping.
The exclusion follows the earlier publication of the provisional voter list, against which members were given an opportunity to submit objections between October 5 and 9. After scrutiny of objections from October 12 to 16, the Returning Officer issued the final list without any change in the number of eligible banks.
Among the prominent delegates included in the final list are Bijender Singh from Delhi State Cooperative Bank, Ajaybhai Patel from Gujarat State Cooperative Bank, K N Rajanna from Karnataka State Cooperative Apex Bank, Vidyadhar Vamanrao Anaskar from Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank and Biswajit Phukan from Assam Cooperative Apex Bank.
The nomination process for the 21 Board positions will take place from October 21 to 28, followed by scrutiny on October 29 and withdrawal of nominations on October 30.
Polling, if required, will be held on November 5, with counting immediately afterwards. The newly elected Board will subsequently elect the federation’s office-bearers, with the process scheduled for November 16 and 17.
The District Collector and Magistrate, Thane, is serving as the Returning Officer, while the Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Thane, is the Assistant Returning Officer.
The previous NAFSCOB Board’s term expired on December 28, 2025, making the forthcoming election significant for the constitution of the federation’s new leadership.
