Dr Ashish Bhutani, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, chaired a meeting on October 13, 2026, at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi, focusing on AgriStack and its implementation journey.
The presentation highlighted AgriStack’s Digital Public Infrastructure, encompassing integrated digital registries, standardised data systems and applications covering farmer identification, fertiliser distribution, crop insurance and agricultural credit.
The deliberations explored how these learnings could support the development of a robust Cooperation Stack to strengthen digitalisation across the cooperative sector. Key areas discussed included data quality, interoperability, privacy safeguards and effective Centre-State collaboration.
The meeting was attended by Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Additional Secretary and Managing Director, NCDC; Siddharth Jain, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation; Dr Pramod Kumar Meherda, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare; senior officials from both ministries and key cooperative sector stakeholders.
The initiative reflects the Ministry’s efforts to explore digital infrastructure models that could improve coordination, data management and service delivery across India’s cooperative ecosystem.
