Maharashtra based Janata Sahakari Bank, Dharashiv, has extended financial assistance to communities affected by drought in Maharashtra and Karnataka, reaffirming the cooperative banking sector’s commitment to supporting people during difficult times.
The bank has contributed Rs 25 lakh to the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support drought-affected people across the state. In addition, the bank has announced Rs 11 lakh in financial assistance for drought-hit communities in Karnataka.
Together, the two contributions amount to Rs 36 lakh, reflecting the bank’s efforts to extend support beyond its immediate operational region and assist communities facing severe water and livelihood challenges.
The assistance is aimed at strengthening relief efforts and providing support to people affected by drought conditions.
