Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) have been advised to keep their branches open on Sunday, September 27, 2026, to facilitate CTS clearing and settlement ahead of the proposed public sector bank strike from September 28 to 30.
The clarification followed a query raised by the Maharashtra Urban Cooperative Banks Federation with the Reserve Bank of India regarding banking operations on Sunday.
As per the clarification, CTS Clearing will remain operational on September 27, requiring UCBs to keep their branches open for settlement purposes.
The RBI has also clarified that, if decided by the bank management, other banking transactions may be carried out as usual on the day.
Cooperative banks have been advised to immediately inform customers through email or SMS about Sunday’s operations and the services available.
UCBs have been requested to take necessary action at their respective levels to ensure smooth clearing and settlement.
