The Andhra Pradesh Government has amended the Andhra Pradesh Cooperative Service Rules, 1989, restructuring the cadre of Deputy Registrars of Cooperative Societies into two Multi-Zonal units.

Through a Government Order issued by the Agriculture & Cooperation Department, the Government has aligned the service rules with the Andhra Pradesh Public Employment (Organisation of Local Cadres and Regulation of Direct Recruitment) Order, 2025.

Under the revised framework, Multi Zone-I will comprise Zones I, II and III, while Multi Zone-II will comprise Zones IV, V and VI. Each Multi-Zone will function as a separate unit for appointment, recruitment, seniority, promotion, transfer and other service matters.

The Commissioner for Cooperation and Registrar of Cooperative Societies has been designated as the appointing authority for Deputy Registrars.

The Government has also specified 95% reservation for local candidates in direct recruitment, in accordance with the Presidential Order, 2025.

Deputy Registrars posted in state-level offices, apex cooperative societies, banks and other institutions will be drawn through transfer or deputation from the two Multi-Zonal cadres, generally for a period not exceeding three years.
