South India’s leading credit cooperative, Shri Beereshwar Cooperative Credit Society, is set to witness a landmark moment on September 20, with Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah scheduled to inaugurate its sprawling ultra-modern head office at Examba in Chikkodi taluka of Karnataka’s Belagavi district.
The inauguration was originally planned last year with Amit Shah as the chief guest but was postponed following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack. The ceremony has now been finalised for September 20, with the society making extensive preparations for the much-awaited event.
Spread across an extensive campus, the new headquarters has been developed as a modern cooperative facility featuring an administrative office, community hall, recreation facilities, staff quarters, solar power infrastructure, gardens and a large parking area.
Speaking to Indian Cooperative over the phone, Annasaheb Jolle, Founder and NCUI Governing Council Member, said, “We are in full swing with preparations to make the inauguration ceremony a grand and successful event.”
“Our team is working tirelessly to ensure that all arrangements are in place and the programme is conducted smoothly. We are looking forward to welcoming Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and making this occasion a memorable milestone for Shri Beereshwar Cooperative Credit Society and the cooperative movement,” he added.
The main administrative building has a built-up area of around 80,800 sq ft and can accommodate nearly 250 employees. The campus also houses Shri Beereshwar Bhavan, an air-conditioned community hall with a seating capacity of 1,500 people.
The society has also constructed three residential staff quarters, each comprising 20 two-BHK and three one-BHK units, with a total built-up area of 72,056 sq ft. Each block includes a hall for private events and lift facilities.
