The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has extended its regulatory directions on two cooperative banks in Gujarat and Maharashtra by another three months, citing public interest.

The directions imposed on The Gujarat Rajya Karmachari Co-op. Bank Ltd., Ahmedabad, under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, have been extended from September 11, 2026, to December 11, 2026, subject to review.

Similarly, the RBI has extended its directions on Loknete R.D. (Appa) Kshirsagar Sahakari Bank Ltd., Niphad, Nashik, from September 16, 2026, to December 16, 2026, also for three months and subject to review.

The central bank clarified that the extension or modification of the directions should not, by itself, be construed as indicating that the RBI is satisfied with the financial position of either bank.

All other terms and conditions of the respective directions will remain unchanged.
