The Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Co-operative Limited (CAMPCO) recorded a strong performance in 2025-26, registering a total business turnover of Rs 3,735 crore and Profit Before Tax (PBT) of Rs 49.62 crore despite volatility in the arecanut market and challenging conditions in the cocoa sector. The Board of Directors has recommended a 14% dividend for the year.

Arecanut remained the backbone of CAMPCO’s operations, with the cooperative procuring 58,742.76 MT valued at Rs 2,924.32 crore and selling 59,088.64 MT worth Rs 2,985.19 crore. CAMPCO said its procurement and marketing network continued to provide growers with a dependable platform and support better value realisation.

The cooperative has raised concerns over increasing imports of arecanut, particularly the alleged mixing of imported produce with domestic arecanut, which it said affects traceability, price discovery and domestic growers. The issue was taken up with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. CAMPCO has also raised the issue of mandi tax on arecanut transactions in Uttar Pradesh with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.

Its cocoa and chocolate business also remained significant. The Chocolate Factory produced 12,606.40 MT, while cocoa and chocolate products recorded sales of Rs 488.65 crore, including exports. A new refiner has been installed and an additional cocoa butter press is being pursued under a Rs 12 crore project.

CAMPCO continued supporting plantation growers through procurement of 1,704.77 MT of rubber and 1,656.12 MT of pepper. Farmer-oriented measures included distribution of 1,16,275 cocoa seedlings and 357.27 MT of subsidised Copper Sulphate, besides Rs 86.42 lakh financial assistance to 120 beneficiaries.

The cooperative expanded its procurement network with new centres at Ripponpet, Chelur and Sarpady, while infrastructure projects are planned or underway at Shivamogga, Chennagiri, Vittal, Ponkunnam and Dharapuram.

Digital initiatives also gained momentum. CAMPCO Kisan Mitra, integrated with its ERP system, provides members access to dividends, incentives, deposits, loans, market rates and procurement information, while CAMPCO CART enables online purchase of its products.

CAMPCO has also joined National Co-operative Exports Limited (NCEL) and exported 130 MT of premium Indian arecanut to the Maldives, besides other cocoa products.

With 1,53,794 members and reserves and other funds of Rs 545.57 crore, CAMPCO plans to focus in 2026-27 on farmer services, procurement, infrastructure, value addition, digitalisation, research and expansion of domestic and international markets.
