Former NITI Aayog CEO Parameswaran Iyer visited the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and met Dr Meenesh Shah, Chairman, NDDB, along with senior officials.
The meeting focused on technical cooperation, institutional partnerships and knowledge exchange to take India’s proven, farmer-centric smallholder dairy model to developing dairy ecosystems globally.
Dr Shah briefed the delegation on NDDB’s journey in transforming India from a milk-deficient nation into the world’s largest milk producer, highlighting landmark initiatives such as Operation Flood and the National Dairy Plan.
He also outlined NDDB’s work in animal productivity, genetics and genomics, breeding technologies, nutrition, animal health, digital initiatives, cooperative development and management support.
The delegation also discussed NDDB’s sustainability initiatives, including manure-to-biogas, compressed biogas and organic fertilisers, as well as White Revolution 2.0.
Iyer and the delegation paid tribute to cooperative leader Maniben Patel and visited GCMMF (Amul) and the Amul Chocolate Plant.
