Former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu held an engaging interaction with the IFFCO team and discussed key challenges and opportunities before Indian agriculture and the cooperative sector.
The wide-ranging discussion covered changing cropping patterns, shrinking land holdings, water resources, the growing role of artificial intelligence and technology, agricultural inputs and fertilizers, youth participation, and the impact of changes in the global economy.
Prabhu emphasised that cooperatives have significant potential to contribute beyond agriculture by strengthening rural economies, creating livelihoods, making better use of local resources and promoting inclusive growth.
He also stressed the need for continuous innovation and new approaches as India moves towards a more developed and resilient economy.
Recalling his close association with the cooperative movement, Prabhu said that IFFCO has been an important part of India’s cooperative journey. The interaction provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss the way forward for building a stronger, technology-driven and inclusive cooperative ecosystem.
