Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has announced the establishment of four new District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) in Rajasthan, marking a significant step toward strengthening the state’s cooperative banking network.
The new banks will be set up in Phalodi, Balotra, Didwana-Kuchaman and Pratapgarh, expanding access to institutional credit in districts that previously lacked dedicated cooperative banking infrastructure.
The announcement was made during a state-level event in Alwar, where Shah also unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening the cooperative sector in Rajasthan.
According to the state government’s roadmap, the four new banks have been identified as financially and operationally viable following a detailed assessment. The initiative is expected to improve access to banking services, particularly for farmers and rural communities.
