The 67th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Gujarat State Cooperative Union (GSCU) was held with enthusiasm under the chairmanship of Ghanshyambhai Amin, bringing together leading personalities from the cooperative sector to review the Union’s achievements and chart its future course.
The meeting was attended by Narhari Amin, Director of the Union and former Member of Parliament, Dollarbhai Kotecha, Chairman of the Gujarat State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank, Ravindrasinh Rana, Vice Chairman of the Gujarat State Cooperative Union, Arvindbhai Tragadiya, Honorary Secretary, and other members of the Board of Directors.
Addressing the gathering, Ghanshyambhai Amin highlighted the significant milestones achieved by the Union during the past year and outlined its vision for the future. He reaffirmed the Union’s commitment to strengthening the cooperative movement in Gujarat through capacity building, education, training, leadership development and institutional support for cooperative societies. He also stressed the need for innovation, transparency and greater participation of youth and women to ensure the continued growth and sustainability of the cooperative sector.
The AGM reviewed the Union’s activities and discussed measures to further enhance the effectiveness of cooperatives in contributing to rural development, agricultural progress and socio-economic empowerment. Members also deliberated on strategies to reinforce the cooperative model in line with the changing economic environment and emerging opportunities.
A major highlight of the meeting was the felicitation of Ghanshyambhai Amin for his historic election as Director of the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) for a record ninth consecutive term. The achievement was described as a proud moment not only for the Gujarat State Cooperative Union but also for the entire cooperative movement in the state.
To mark the occasion, Amin was honoured with a ceremonial shawl and bouquet by fellow directors and office-bearers in recognition of his outstanding leadership and decades of dedicated service to the cooperative sector. Speakers lauded his sustained contribution to strengthening cooperative institutions and promoting cooperative values at both the state and national levels.
Congratulating Amin on the milestone, members expressed confidence that his continued representation on the NCUI Board would further strengthen Gujarat’s voice in the national cooperative movement and contribute to the advancement of the cooperative sector across the country. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to expanding the reach of cooperatives and promoting inclusive, sustainable development through the cooperative model.
