In a major push to accelerate cooperative sector reforms, Cooperation Secretary Dr. Ashish Bhutani chaired a two-day review meeting on July 27-28 in New Delhi to assess the implementation of various initiatives of the Ministry of Cooperation across States and Union Territories.
Held at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, the meeting brought together representatives of States and UTs through virtual mode to review progress in strengthening the cooperative movement under the Ministry’s flagship vision of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’.
The discussions focused on the formation and strengthening of cooperative societies, digitisation of the cooperative ecosystem, capacity building, implementation of major Ministry initiatives and the adoption of best practices aimed at improving the efficiency, transparency and sustainability of cooperative institutions across the country.
Senior officials reviewed the status of ongoing programmes and emphasised the need for effective implementation, regular monitoring and stronger coordination between the Centre and States to achieve the Ministry’s objectives.
The meeting was attended by Additional Secretaries Pankaj Kumar Bansal and Siddharth Jain, Joint Secretaries Anand Kumar Jha, Raman Kumar and Shiv Pal Singh, along with other senior officials of the Ministry of Cooperation.
