Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar DCC Bank Polls Heat Up

The election to the Board of Directors of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District Central Cooperative Bank (formerly Aurangabad DCC Bank) has entered a crucial phase, with intense political activity surrounding the polls.

A total of 214 nomination papers have been filed, though the actual number of candidates is significantly lower, as several aspirants submitted multiple nomination papers to avoid technical disqualification.

The scrutiny process was completed on Monday, and the final list of valid and rejected nominations is expected to be published on Tuesday. The list will provide clarity on the number of candidates officially remaining in the contest.

Speaking to Indian Cooperative, outgoing Chairman Arjun Gadhe said he has filed his nomination and is confident of securing another term on the bank’s board.

Leaders from both the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi have entered the contest, making the election a high-stakes political battle. The 20-member board will be elected on July 4.

Sources indicate that six of the outgoing directors, having completed the maximum permissible tenure of ten years, are not seeking re-election.
