IFFCO winners were received back home with flowers and warmth, unheard of in any other co-operative election. “This is due to IFFCO’s brand value”, commented a RGB member who witnessed the surging crowds at the Ahmadabad airport who had come to welcome Dileepbhai Sanghani.
Indian Cooperative desk has received info on the warm welcome accorded to the newly elected Vice-Chairman of IFFCO Dileep Sanghani, Devender Reddy and Ovr Ramachandran.
Hundreds of supporters rushed to garland Sanghani at the airport even as he struggled to meet each of them individually. Choked with garlands, Sanghani thanked one and all profusely.
Later, Sanghani paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani and the latter greeted the former warmly. “On being elected unopposed as the Vice-Chairman of IFFCO, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani greeted me on my victory”, Sanghani wrote on his Facebook page.
Meanwhile, official twitter handle of Telangana CMO informs, “The newly elected Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Society Limited Director Sri Devender Reddy paid a courtesy call on Hon’ble CM Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao.”
It bears recall that from Maharashtra-Telangana-Andhra Pradesh, where three candidates were in race it was a wafer thin margin for the winner Devendra Reddy. While Reddy bagged 34 seats his nearest rival Vivek Bipindada Kole had just 3 votes less than him at 31.
Ramachandran who made it to the IFFCO Board for the first time wrote “ Happy to visit Tamil Nadu house and call upon Shri Balu Iyer, Regional Director of International Co-operative alliance Asia pacific to discuss engaging youth in cooperatives. Balu was very happy for all your articles particularly which covered IIFFCO elections and myself; Thanks Once again”.
Readers would note that B S Nakai and Dileepbhai Sanghani were elected as Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively of IFFCO on last Friday.
