GUJCOMASOL which was in the news for all the wrong reasons due to not holding elections for years has once again begun focusing on co-operative activities. It recently saw shift of power from the Congress- supported Natu Patel to BJP leader Dileepbhai Sanghani.
Gujarat based marketing cooperative federation GUJCOMASOL has recently organized a Cooperative Training Seminar in collaboration with Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemical Limited (GNFC) in the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University hall at Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The objective of this seminar was to encourage farmers to buy GNFC fertilizer through digital mode of payment via the channels of GUJSCOMASOL availing a discount of about ten percent on fertilizers, said Dileep Saghani, Chairman, GUJCOMASOL to this correspondent.
He further said the federation is active providing agriculture inputs like fertilizers, seeds, pesticides etc to the farmers through a wide network of cooperative channels in the state to save farmers from exploitation at the hands of private traders, he added.
The Central government focuses on educating farmers to adopt cashless transaction in their activities. That apart, the govt provides them fertilizer on discounted rates so that more and more farmers use their debit card to purchase agriculture inputs, said Sanghani to this correspondent.
Besides Sanghani, Managing Director of GNFC Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta, Satishbhai Patel of GUJCOMASOL, representatives of cooperative marketing and others were present on the occasion.
It bears recall that the GNFC has reported a net profit of Rs 67 crore for the first quarter ended June 2017. Earlier, Sanghani won uncontested as Congress did not have the required number and the state BJP suppressed the dissidence among its members. Govindbhai Parmar was declared elected Vice-Chairman along with Sanghani.
